• 05.09.05 - Skean Dhu has bumped the release of "The Three Enemies" up a whopping three months! It's an unprecedented move in the music industry to move UP a release, so I'm quite pleased. The original release was scheduled for November '05, but is now August '05. So that means a late summer release for "The Three Enemies." Niccce.
• "So how's the progress on the album?" you ask... Well, it's going really well. After the initial writing stages and basic tracking took place over Memorial Day Wknd in May of '04, the three tracks sat around collecting dust for the better part of the year. They received light workouts here and there, gaining muscle and tone, but didn't change TOO too much. In early 2005 though I took some time to track extra sounds and musical accompaniment to beef the tracks up and offer the potential listener a more intriguing backdrop to the already potent musical numbers. Since receiving the email from Skean Dhu on Thursday night asking if the August release was feasible, I took Saturday to do a little tweaking to the opening track "The Flesh." It wasn't shaping up the way I wanted and I wasn't happy with the lack of flow it had with the other two tracks. I totally ripped it up. Moved sections of music around, flipped things upsidedown, lengthened tracks, ran some through effects, trashed pieces... took a break and had a sandwich... clipped and repasted selections, really did a number on it. I'm quite pleased with the end result of that editing session. I now feel that the three tracks really flow and fit together the way I foresaw just about a year ago at conception. Stay tuned.

"The Three Enemies" is based on the Christina Rossetti poem of the same title. The poem can be found in the book "A Choice of Christina Rossetti's Verse" by Elizabeth Jennings published by Faber and Faber. The Three Enemies are The Flesh, The World and The Devil.
